Description:
We will meet at Carrs parking lot in Palmer. There we will have approximately a 1.5 hour drive along scenic highways, taking pictures of the Matanuska Glacier and scenic mountains along the way to the trailhead. Once at the trailhead we will begin a 6 to eight hour round trip to the top of Monument Mountain. There we will look over the tops of many other mountains. Once there, we will decide whether to go down the other side of the mountain to have lunch or eat on top. After playing on the mountain and in streams, we will start our return journey. Be prepared to see bear, wolf, moose, caribou and fox. You may bring a fishing pole if you have an Alaska fishing license for there is monster grayling to be caught.
